SUMMER SOLSTICE

SUMMER SOLSTICE

Returning to Your Own Light

There are moment when nature itself pauses. And I always feel like the Summer Solstice is one of them.

It’s the longest day and the shortest night. The brightest. Where it’s all about the light.
Shining a light onto everything. And therefore also: A threshold between becoming and being.

For thousands of years, cultures around the world gathered on this day to honor the Sun, not merely as a celestial body, but as a symbol of life, vitality, abundance, and consciousness itself.
The ancient Greeks celebrated Helios and Apollo, honoring the life-giving force of the sun and the golden intelligence that illuminates all things. Across Europe, fires were lit on hilltops. People danced, sang, prayed, and gave thanks for the harvest yet to come. Yet perhaps the deepest wisdom of the solstice is much simpler:

The light is already here.

Not somewhere outside of you. Not waiting to arrive.
Not hidden behind another course, ceremony, achievement, relationship, or destination.

Already here.

Yesterday evening, while preparing for today’s solstice, life offered me a gentle reminder of exactly that. What was meant to be a vibrant celebration (I was on my way to a summer solstice party but got completely lost on the way there) ended differently than planned: I found myself alone on a mountain overlooking the sea, a beautiful valley with olive trees, watching the longest day’s sunset melt into golden light. No gathering. No dancing. No grand ritual. Just me and silence. And light. Perhaps this was the ceremony. The soul often knows what the mind does not. Maybe what was needed was not more noise, more activity, more doing. But simply presence. An inner celebration to see and hear my very own light clearly. The mountain became my temple, that sunset became a quiet blessing, understanding the power of change - and the stillness became my greatest teacher in that moment of quiet inner celebration.

I downloaded beautiful magical messages and somewhere between the sea, the sky, and the fading sun, something softened in me. No more doing. Being. Shining. Naturally. A cycle closed.

The Solstice Invitation

Today, we do not need elaborate rituals. No pressure to manifest. No pressure to transform.
No pressure to become someone new.

As a clear reminder: The sun is not trying to become brighter today. It simply shines. Effortless.

And that is enough for us, too. Instead of seeking something outside of yourself, come onto your mat.

Sit. Lie down. Breathe. Feel.

Allow yourself to simply experience the light that already exists within you.

Nothing to fix.
Nothing to heal.
Nothing to achieve.

Just feel your own presence. Your own heart. Your own aliveness.

A Simple Solstice Kundalini Activation

Today we offer a practice of receiving rather than doing.

Duration: 11 minutes

  1. Come to your mat - sit comfortably with a straight spine. Allow your shoulders to soften. Close your eyes.
  2. Open the Heart Field. Place both palms gently over your heart. Breathe in through the nose. Exhale slowly through the mouth. Continue for several minutes.
  3. Visualize your Inner Sun. Imagine a golden sun resting in the center of your chest. Not above you. Not outside you. Deeeeep within you. With every inhale, you feel and see this sun even more clear, you begin to smile. With every exhale it shines into every cell of your body.
  4. Silent Receiving….Remain completely still. No mantra. No effort. Simply allow yourself to receive your own light.
  5. Integrate and Complete: Place your forehead gently towards your hands or mat. Whisper: “I allow myself to shine in my own way.”

The Real Meaning of the Solstice

The Summer Solstice is not about becoming brighter. It is about remembering that you already are. And that naturally life goes through phases and cycles. Celebrating the peak today - knowing it is also a turning point. Nothing stays the same ever - constant change. The sun reaches its highest point today. And then, quietly, without resistance, it begins its return journey. Nature teaches us that even in moments of fullness, surrender is part of the cycle. So celebrate if your heart wishes to celebrate. Gather if your soul wishes to gather. Or sit quietly beneath the sky. Trusting that your higher self knows exactly what is needed. No grand ritual required. Only your presence. Only your breath. Only your light.

Your light knows the way. Let it guide you!

Happy Summer Solstice, beloved soulMAATÏs.

With all my Light,

Yours Leonie
