Why THE MAT by MAATÏ MAATÏ ?
In the following we want to explain you shortly why a MAATÏ MAATÏ Cork Yoga Mat is not equal any other Cork Yoga Mat. Why we charge the price we charge and why it is more than just worth its price. Every single MAATÏ MAATÏ Cork Yoga Mat is a promise and a statement to sustain ancient traditions, ensure the existence of Portuguese Cork Farmer Families and the quality of our harvested cork is usually used for the finest Champaign Corks only. There are different categories of cork (5 different ones). Using the highest champaign cork quality for our MAATÏ MAATÏ Mats only (which doesn´t break, which is harvested in one big slice), we developed this very special technique to manufacture a mat, which sustains all the positive benefits of the raw material cork in its natural form.
For us every single mat has a soul. In the text below sometimes we called THE MAT = she.
For us every single mat has a soul. In the text below sometimes we called THE MAT = she.
1. Our cork is 25 years slow aged and naturally grown over decades in Portugal on a Cork Oak. There are different qualities and even artificially grown cork trees nowadays.
2. She is a lightweight with under 1kg. Therefore you can easily travel the world with your companion and even bring it to every yoga class.
3. She is Water resistant and self cleansing and therefore super hygienic
4. She is 5mm thick and designed with an extra puffy foam cushion so that you can flow through your Yoga Practice on almost all unstable grounds of given Mother Nature and still find stability on THE MAT. (Plus therefore it is healthy and protects your knees, elbows and joints during your practice).
5. Sustainably, organically and Fair Trade manufactured by Portuguese Cork Farmers by hand with an ancient slow-harvesting technique with a machete to save every gram of cork
6. A better grip than usual cork yoga mats plus less breakable
7. In Yoga you breathe deeply. So you shouldn´t inhale toxins - but nature. Which you do on your MAATÏ MAATÏ Mat. Inhale deeply. Connect with nature. With your breath - and even via your biggest organ: Your skin. Yoga on Nature.
